Home for the Holidays

Home for the Holidays is one program you need to get on your "must see" list.

A great deal of the show's appeal is due to the talented cast, who all blend together beautifully and each one has their own special qualities which are allowed to shine.

[George Deavours'] rendition of Elvis' "Blue Christmas" was a standout of the evening.

Cathe Hall Payne, as Mom, is the "poster child" for this show.  Her love of Christmas and her phenomenal stage presence combine to give her performance a glow that lights up the stage! A true holiday force of nature!

Rachel Miller: best Mary ever. She really connects with her audience, letting them feel her pain when she sings about missing her man at the holidays.

Spencer Stephens' sweet voice invested his solos of "The Christmas Song" and "White Christmas" with poignancy and longing for home and tradition.

Summer Bergeron's take [on O Holy Night] is more hymn than aria, reminding us of the reason for the holy night's existence. She will leave you shaken and thunderstruck.

Craig Waldrip's solo on "I'll Be Home for Christmas" left me awestruck. Absolutely outstanding!

The SDP production team continues to increase production quality. The stage glows in holiday warmth and comfort.

As usual, musical director Linda Uzelac, joined by keyboardist R. Todd Fleeman, holds it all together without missing a beat.

Director Robert Egizio and Musical Director Linda Uzelac are total professionals who consistently deliver quality productions to their audience

"Home for the Holidays" has definitely has established its place among Dunwoody holiday traditions.

Breaking Legs

Stage Door Players' latest offering, "Breaking Legs," is a smart and funny comedy.

...the actors capture the comedic zing of suburban organized crime, right down to the New Jersey/New York "fagedaboutit" accents.

[Allen] Hagler perfectly portrays a flustered, sputtering intellect.

[Amber] Chaney delivers a top-notch performance as his streetwise, gum-smacking romantic foil.

[Michael] Shikany's monotone commentary and gold chain-accented ensembles are scene-stealers.

Director Laurence Ruth skillfully guides the talented cast in entertaining the audience with a little bit of everything.

It's an offer you definitely can't refuse.

World Goes Round

SDP's "The World Goes Round" is a first class production!

The direction of the show was "pitch perfect". The bits of business, choreography and added props made the different songs even more entertaining, yet smartly kept the focus on the music

Each cast member delivered flawless solo performances, and the ensemble numbers displayed their impeccable vocal blend.

The orchestration was played with great skill and élan, and perfectly mixed through the theatre's sound system.

Jim Alford's beautiful costumes were the perfect compliment to the performances throughout the show.

The lighting designs at SDP have always been excellent, but this show's design took things to a new level.

Stage Door Players consistently presents quality productions, and "The World Goes Round" is no exception.

The Cocktail Hour

Director Jessie Dean has put together a stellar ensemble cast for this show.

The patriarch, Bradley, expertly played by Brink Miller, is proud and authoritative, but he's hiding deep insecurities he doesn't recognize.

Barbara Scott Sherry beautifully portrays the mother, Anna, a woman who wants everything and everyone in the right place at all times.

Larry Davis' John is a tortured soul, and Mr. Davis expertly reacts to those around him as he struggles to understand them and himself.

Nina, the older sister, is perfectly played by Karen Whitaker.

Chuck Welcome's set designs are always beautiful and inventive, and the set for "The Cocktail Hour" is no exception.

Much of the humor of this play is dry, and the entire cast brings the appropriate nuance to this comedy.

If you're looking for a way to unwind and enjoy some laughs, don't miss "The Cocktail Hour."
